How is a Precision Storm Shelter installed?

The storm shelters are cast in two pieces in our plant in Columbia, Missouri and hauled to your property via flatbed truck. A crane lifts the 8,000 pound bottom unit and deposits it into a pre-dug excavation. Then the top section is lowered onto the bottom and sealed.

Finally, dirt is backfilled against the vault so that only the tapered top is visible. Subsequent landscaping (not included) can make the installation virtually invisible if you so desire. For more information, please check out the Precision Precast Storm Shelter Installation Guide (PDF).

What is included in the purchase price?

Precision Precast will deliver and insert the storm shelter into the pre-dug opening. Excavation costs are not included, however, we can arrange with quality local contractors to have this work done. If desired, you can handle the excavation costs yourself. We will supply correct dimensions and instructions.

We do not provide landscaping services, backfilling or hauling dirt off of the premesis, although we can recommend these services if desired.

"First off, thanks for the great job! My wife passed out around 8:00 p.m. with the kiddo and has never slept so soundly! It was a real pleasure working with you and Scott. Your staff was courteous, polite and very friendly. I will be recommending you to several friends. I really do think these shelters can save lives. Second, sorry for the weird picture, but the camera caught us laughing in our new shelter."
